The Kaloko Makai - Kona Residential Park LLC project in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, is a designated Neighborhood Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) on the island of HawaiÊ»i. Part of a statewide effort to identify and plan for TOD areas, the Kaloko Makai project is intended to provide mixed-use and affordable housing, and was identified as a pilot area for examining TOD financing and infrastructure. The project's vision includes residential, commercial, civic, and educational components, with a focus on integrating natural features and addressing housing needs.

    The project emphasizes preserving and integrating natural environments, including setting aside land for the Kaloko Makai Dryland Forest Preserve, a significant habitat for native species.
